Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier (LEAF) is a tree museum located in Frontier Park in between West 6th Street and West 8th Street in Erie just past Seminole Drive. The museum currently holds over 225 different kinds of trees, a number that is growing each year. LEAF strives to create educational opportunities and outdoor experiences for the Erie community.
The organization hosts a gazebo in Frontier Park that gives a great view of trees blossoming in the spring time. Leaf also has the Patricia McCain Outdoor Classroom which is also known as the amphitheater. It has stone seating that supports up to 75 people. This space is used for a variety of activities and events including free Thursday night concerts during the summer. Finally, the LEAF Education Center contains the LEAF Office space and 2,000 square feet of multi-purpose, environmentally friendly space available for rent. The multi-purpose room has a sink, outlets, shades, and a bulletin board among other amenities making it suitable for various meetings. The facility has close by parking and restrooms as well making it practical for all kinds of events and gatherings.
Leaf partners for other green organizations in Erie (for example: Tree Vitalize). They support many events and are very active in the community. See their website for more information:
